An oil on canvas triptych from my 2002 series "Biomorphic Circus", depicting groups of figures which are part human and and part animal. These three paintings represent a bridge between a body of work about play and circuses and my more recent family portraits.

So, these wonderful paintings have now been living with me for a while and I have had time to get to know them. The blue in this series reminds me of big sky country. When I was 12 I went to Wyoming for the first time and I couldn't believe the depth and expanse of the sky there, it was exhilarating. This triptych takes me to that beautiful feeling of the never ending power of that sky. The figures are solid but sort of carefree at the same time. Gwyneth works on a scale that fills the space, and I love the feeling of being surrounded by these pieces. She showed me her other works and I fell in love with them as well. Thank you Gwyneth.

This triptych was adopted by Caroline who lives in Tribeca, New York City. I am delighted that she has the room to hang all three canvasses in her home and that she lives locally. It was a pleasure to meet her and her son when they picked up the paintings and I look forward to seeing her growing collection of FAAN artworks at some point.
