'recombinant 25' by qi peng 2007, oil pastel and ink on five stretched 6" x 9" canvas panels, is signed on top of each panel separately. 'recombinant 25' exists as one of qi peng's few paintings based on a mathematical and contemplative state. He notes that the 25 number is equal to five squared which is a rearrangement of the number 25 itself. There is a strong element of self-reflection and self-reference which infuses the driving concept behind this rather muted mathematical powers-based work. The installation painting is in pristine condition.

A most kind guy who wanted this rather difficult conceptual painting. We chatted since his 1st choice wasn't available since the storage handler (my old atelier.180 gallery owner Tiffany F.) never got back to me (afraid that most of my early works are lost pretty much)...
