find the image disturbing and compelling... .
AND....having seen fire up close (my l.a. neighborhood burned down in the late nineties) the feeling of heat -fire generated wind is captured in a sort of dreamlike flurry with all the immediate beauty and blaze of the real deal.....i like that i can't immediate decide if the figure is being drawn into the disaster or backing away from it.....kinda like what it's like every day of my life......
it'd probably be hung in my uws apartment.....i'm a designer with a high end clientele and have a fairly eclectic style....am drawn to a work of art usually because of an emotional connection.....this one does it for me.....

I liked this guy a lot -- direct, no-nonsense, he really likes the work, and I enjoyed meeting him. He did feel odd about taking it, as he fully understands the value of artworks, etc.; I told him that I feel part of that value must have to do with its being seen and experienced. This painting would otherwise be living unseen in my painting racks, perhaps forever eclipsed by newer ones.
