Hopscotch in OM is an ongoing project in which numerous visual elements are combined to produce a final piece. The current available elements, when combined, create a grid configuration. Each element is attached to a surface (either a thin metal plate or magnetized wall) with a magnet and can be easily rearranged. This project explores my interest in color, repetition, the grid and engaging the viewer thru participation & decision making that no longer allows the artist (me) to dictate the final outcome. For the each of three pieces up for adoption the selection of elements has been chosen. (Ideally the collector would choose the elements, which ones & how many, as well as how they would come together & their arrangement). green/orange 2strip consists of (10) 3"x 3" square painted elements. The piece comes with (2) 2"x12" metal strips which are easily installed onto a wall. The painted elements attach magnetically to the strips. The collector has the freedom to choose the format based on the positioning of the metal strips (or can use magnetic paint for the wall to have more formatting possibilities). The configuration I have chosen is a vertical installation, 2 elements wide & 5 elements high.

I received Hopscotch for Om a few days ago and it's luscious! Pictures can't do justice to the richness, depth and sensual surfaces of the elements composing the piece. Some are glazed-perhaps with resin and look like the colors layered underneath were melted in an oven. Beautiful. Others give me the impression of woven brushstrokes of dry pigment. The heat and cool temps of the elements are strangely and beautifully erotic. Jill generously included some extra elements....and that's got me thinking about expansion. We love it .

This has been a great experience.
(I'll post more on the details)
So happy Dave & his husband will have this piece.
