Hopscotch in OM is an ongoing project in which numerous visual elements are combined to produce a final piece. The current available elements, when combined, create a grid configuration. Each element is attached to a surface (either a thin metal plate or magnetized wall) with a magnet and can be easily rearranged. This project explores my interest in color, repetition, the grid and engaging the viewer thru participation & decision making that no longer allows the artist (me) to dictate the final outcome. For the each of three pieces up for adoption the selection of elements has been chosen. (Ideally the collector would choose the elements, which ones & how many, as well as how they would come together & their arrangement). green/gray consists of (18) 3"x 3" square painted elements. The piece comes with (2) 9"x9" metal squares which are easily installed onto a wall. The painted elements attach magnetically to the squares. The collector has the freedom to choose the format based on the positioning of the metal squares (or can use magnetic paint on the wall to have more formatting possibilities). The configuration I have chosen is 3 visual elements wide & 6 visual elements tall. The possibilities are many.
