Sarah Phillips is a Toronto-born, Brooklyn-based visual artist who has exhibited widely in Canada and the US. Much of her current artwork is inspired by environmental concerns, or more specifically, the conflicted concerns we have for the environment. She employs imagery that taps into a tier of today's popular culture that is just below the forefront of our visual landscape and peppered with subtle humor and mild absurdity.

In 2004 she moved to New York to pursue a Masters in Fine Art with a concentration in printmaking at Brooklyn College. From 2006 to 2007 She was awarded a year-long keyholder residency at the Lower East Side Printshop.

She also creates public installations using photovotaics. In October of 2007 she installed "Vermicast", a solar-powered installation of a worm compost heap in a multi-use activist space in Philadelphia called The Lancaster Avenue Autonomous Space (LAVA). In the summer of 2007 she installed I (heart) PV at Stuyvesant Cove Park in New York.
