Karen Codd is an intermedia artist living in Brooklyn. SInce obtaining her BFA in 2003 from The College of Saint Rose, Codd produces mixed media collages, performative drawings and makes a variety of musical contributions, to local projects, with her cello.
Her jewel-like brushwork on acetate most often depicts female figures with animalian tendrels, hovering in natural settings, as though suspended in subconscious terrain. Alternatively, with her cello, she has created a method wherein she translates actual elevation profiles into abstract interpretations of landscapes she has visited or inhabited.
