I discovered this site while investigating Art in General. My first instinct was to look for the catch! FAAN provides such an awesome opportunity. I have referred several friends to the site and it is always fun to see the looks on their faces as I describe the ability to receive a gift of art - no catches.
The surreal quality of this particular piece immediately caught my eye. The bonus in the process was meeting a very interesting and kind person (Joy) that invited me (a perfect stranger) into her home and studio. Not a very New York thing to do, but then again, only in New York!
I am an architect and have the honor of displaying the work of several friends in my apartment. I am now priviledged to add Joy to that group.
I currently have the painting displayed on an illuminated shelf in my living room bookcase.
