CLICK ZOOM FOR DETAIL VIEW TO SEE NON-BLURRY IMAGE -- This piece is made from Poplar wood and the holes were hand-drilled. The piece has a clear lacquer finish. I selected "sculpture" as the medium but in all honesty I view the work as a combination of sculpture, painting and drawing

The artist, J.T. Kirkland, writes:

Debra's email to me was to the point, something I can appreciate. Here's a snippet of what she wrote:

"I would like to adopt Foundation. The first time I visited the FAAN site, I was smitten with Foundation’s gentle minimalist approach and the natural beauty of the wood grain. Over the past month, I have thought about adopting Foundation, and can say that I am ready to make a long-term commitment to care for the work."

Debra recently got a Masters degree in Museum Studies and I feel confident that the piece will be in a caring home. I'm glad that she will be able to enjoy the piece for years to come.

This artwork has been adopted.
