Chroma-Officer
artist: Matt Davis

The artist, Matt Davis, writes:

From the adopter, Margarita Palatnik:

I came upon the FAAN website sort of by accident, while researching
work on
an artist friend that I lost touch with many years ago. I started
browsing
through, and immediately was taken by Matt Davis' work. It was hard to
decide at first (I didn't want to be greedy and ask to adopt 2 or 3
pieces),
so I settled on Chroma-Officer, which was the one that initially caught
my
eye, and the one I kept coming back to. When I summoned the nerve to
request
the adoption, I sent a message to Matt and immediately forgot about it,
as
the notion seemed too good to be true: ask for a piece of art you like,
and
have it sent to you as a gift by a complete stranger!
To my great surprise and happiness, Matt responded positively to my
request,
so then we spent a couple of days figuring out how to get it to a
friend of
mine in New York. Thus, Chroma-Officer started it's long journey to
Punta
del Este, Uruguay. Juan, my friend in New York was traveling shortly to
Uruguay, and kindly agreed to deliver it. A few weeks later, I had
Chroma-Officer sitting in my mother's house (who actually doesn't quite
get
it, so has reluctantly agreed to give it a little corner on a shelf
where it
acts as a book-end, which I thought was better than having it in hiding
in a
closet.) It's final destination is the home my husband and I are still
building, and hope to occupy in September or October.

This artwork has been adopted.
