Mixed media on paper, unframed. Organic Series Inspired by images that I saw in a video of my knee (ACL) surgery, I tried to re-create the beautiful feeling of the bubbles and tissues floating inside the body. The human body is a very fragile and beautiful thing.

I am familiar with Fumiko's paintings and collages in Los Angeles where she often exhibits. I thought this piece was especially exquisite and when I read the description about the history of it's creation, I really wanted it. Although there are artists that have described some surgical experience, I found this piece sensitive and imaginative in that her source material was transposed to resemble something human. It is an extremely elegant composition as well.
