'film-photo'-installation - dvd-projection - 10 min; International Studio & Curatorial Program New York "privacy/policy-heidegger/arendt“ is a film composed from letters of Jewish philosopher Hannah Arendt and the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. I was interested in creating an ambiguity in the excerpts – an ambiguity I felt while reading the whole dialogue of the two philosophers. The historic situation in which this conversation is set, also creates said ambivalence. A "love" that might be happening between two people becomes a metaphor for the inconceivability of history. The title is derived from the feminist terminology, "the private is political" and hints at the political dimension of the relationship. Also "privacy/policy-heidegger/arendt“ give insight into the production of philosophy itself.
