The adopter, Peter Ferko, writes:
I told Amy that I love collecting art, but being a relatively starving artist myself, my collection is mostly thanks to the generosity of my talented friends. I always wondered how I might ever collect works by artists I admire from afar. This amazing project has made this possible. Amy was so gracious, funny and wonderful to correspond with through this process. I feel tremendously honored to have this work, in spite of not being a librarian from Kansas--and I have already told non-artists about the project to help Amy find the right home for her other drawing! (And I have, of course, posted the FAAN on my organization's web site: www.artistsunite-ny.org)
The artist, amy sillman, writes:
i was looking for a librarian in kansas (my idea of the strictest ideal of FAAN, to get art to people who wouldnt have it otherwise) and i said no to a lot of artists who asked (which was flattering) but finally since ONLY artists asked, i decided to give it to peter ferko because he works with a not-for-profit art organization called Artists Unite that sounds rad.
